Summary A Will is a document that instructs your loved ones on what to do with your possessions when you die. This template will format may be used by someone who needs to review or draw up their will, and where their affairs are not complex. Note that this Will does not make provision for the formation of a trust in the event that any of the heirs are minors.

What does the Will say? The Will consists of: Revocation; Appointment of Executor; Power to Appoint; Bequests; Heirs; Exclusion from Community and Accrual; No Collation; Remains; Interpretation.

What do you need to do to use the template?

• Read this template last will and testament to ensure that it suits your requirements. Make changes to suit your unique needs, as required.
• Complete the relevant details. It is of critical importance that you ensure that all details have been completed before signing the Will.
• Where you want to leave specific and identifiable assets to certain people, list these as bequests in clause 4. Where you want to leave the rest of your estate generally to certain people, list these people as your heirs in clause 5.
• Ensure that you sign the Will in the presence of two witnesses, with all of you signing each page. (Note: your witnesses must be over 16 years old, competent to sign, and must not be named in your Will, or married to someone named in your Will).
