Contract Drafting Service

This is a service, not an instant download. After you order, we email you a short form to fill in. Once we have your requirements, your contract is drafted and sent to you by email, usually within five business days.

What you get

One contract, drafted for your situation by a South African contract lawyer, supplied as an editable Microsoft Word document. Up to three rounds of changes are included.

The price covers one agreement. If you need more than one, change the quantity at checkout and send us the requirements for each.

Who this is for

• You cannot find a template that fits what you need
• Your requirements are too specific for a standard template
• You would rather not adjust a contract yourself

How it works

1. Place your order. That is the full price for one drafted contract.
2. Fill in the request form. You will get a download link by email. The more detail you give us, the better the draft. Email it back when it is done, and add anything else we should know. We may come back to you for more information.
3. Receive your contract. In most cases within five business days of us having everything we need. Tell us if it is urgent and we will do what we can.
4. Review it. Read it through and let us know if anything needs changing.

Good to know

• Custom drafting is not available between 15 December and 7 January each year.
• Complex agreements can take longer. We will tell you if we expect a delay.

If we cannot draft it, you get your money back

There are some agreements we will not take on. If we cannot help, or you are not satisfied with the final contract, we refund you in full. We are unable to draft an agreement where:

• It is illegal, attempts to circumvent statutory requirements, or would contravene a legal obligation
• It is likely to contravene another agreement already in place
• The complexity requires an exceedingly long drafting time
• It falls outside the expertise of the specialists on our panel
• It is, in our discretion, immoral, unethical or contrary to public policy
• It requires specific signing arrangements, lodgement or registration before it can be enforced
• It is required to settle legal proceedings
• It relates to family law, such as divorce or maintenance

Examples we cannot provide: post-nuptial contracts, contracts transferring your payment obligations on a finance agreement, documents in a language other than English, contracts needing regulatory approval, settlement agreements during litigation, divorce settlement agreements and maintenance agreements.

• Consultations or the provision of advice
• Contract negotiation or conflict resolution
• Payment of duties or other levies
• Registration, delivery or lodgement
• Arranging signatures
• Printing, courier or other delivery fees
• Notarial or conveyancing services
• Special type-setting, formatting, design or layout
• More than three rounds of changes
• Ongoing maintenance and updates to the document
• Any other costs involved in giving effect to the document
